• Solemn thanks to President Trump, his administration, and the American people for their critical role in rapprochement between the DRC and Rwanda.

• President João Lourenço (Angola and acting AU President)
• Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta—for initiating the Luanda and Nairobi processes

Significance of the Washington Agreements

• A peace agreement
• A regional economic integration framework

• They offer a new perspective: ending cycles of violence, displacement, and mistrust; ushering in friendship, cooperation, and shared prosperity.

DRC Commitments and Expectations

• The DRC solemnly commits to sincere, serious, and rigorous implementation, prioritizing peace, security, unity, and territorial integrity.

• We expect Rwanda to honor the letter and spirit of the accords with equal seriousness.

• We seek cooperation based on:
• Mutual respect
• Non-interference
• Joint struggle against armed groups
• Ending support for negative forces
• Fair prosperity for both populations

Outlook for the Future

• Today begins a demanding but transformative path where peace becomes reality.

• The DRC will act with dignity, consistency, vigilance, and resolute optimism.

• These agreements must symbolize an irreversible shift from confrontation to sustainable regional peace.
